Children, Young People and Families (CYPF)

Specialist children’s health services have been available throughout Hunter New England for many years. The Children, Young People and Families (CYFP) Directorate of Hunter New England Local Health District integrates a range of health care services designed to meet the ever-changing health needs of babies, children, young people and their families.

The services offered throughout the CYPF network ensure that kids from the bush to the beach have access to world-class health professionals and care.

This single network throughout our region brings together the vast range of hospital and community-based services in the Lake Macquarie, Upper and Lower Hunter, Port Stephens, Lower Mid North Coast and Greater Newcastle regions.

The John Hunter Children’s Hospital is the main treatment facility for the most seriously ill and injured children throughout Northern NSW.

The services offered by CYPF do not operate under just one roof, in-fact CYPF’s network of services spans an area the size of the UK.

Despite this vast geographical network, CYPF is able to provide access to world-class quality health care with our specialists travelling to regional and rural centres. This services, known as Outreach enables CYPF to meet the health care needs of families who otherwise need to travel many hours to see their paediatric specialist.
